Toyota today confirms the all-new Aygo X, the name of the company’s upcoming A-segment crossover. With the “X” pronounced “cross”, the new model signals the addition to Toyota’s growing crossover product offering. The new Aygo X, which is exclusively produced by Toyota offers a unique crossover proposition to the small car market and a very affordable entry into the Toyota brand for younger drivers.
Bold and distinctive, the all-new Aygo X is perfectly catered to Irish drivers with its signature compact style, premium quality and striking crossover stance. From rural settings to urban surroundings, the Aygo X offers drivers the benefit of both comfort and style with no compromises. Developed in Europe, for European customers, the Aygo X development team studied the current and future life in urban and suburban environments across Europe to deliver a confident compact crossover unique to the A-segment which will be produced in Kolin at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic.
The newest compact car in Toyota’s lineup is built on the successful GA-B platform of the Toyota New Global Architecture, first introduced with the new Yaris—the current Car of the Year 2021 in Europe—and more recently with the new Yaris Cross.
Michael Gaynor, Marketing Director of Toyota Ireland commented on the announcement: “The arrival of the Aygo X signifies a new chapter in Toyota’s long heritage in compact vehicles. The new Aygo X is now exclusively Toyota, unlike the outgoing model, and is refining the small car segment with a unique urban crossover design. The Aygo X is also very important to the brand in Ireland as it offers younger drivers first entry into the brand given its affordability and style.”
The all-new Aygo X will be revealed in early November with indicative Irish pricing. The new model is expected to arrive on Irish shores at the end of Q1 2022.
