Hybrid Electric Options
More Irish drivers are moving away from diesel towards electrified motoring, as evidenced by the increasing popularity of hybrid electric cars in particular. Toyota’s hybrid electric cars account for 88% of its passenger car sales in Ireland, with 74%* of drivers agreeing they are an innovative way to move forward and change the way we drive. Toyota Ireland is helping drivers move towards a more sustainable future through its wide range of reliable, high performing electrified vehicles, with options to suit all lifestyles and driving needs.
Zoë Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs in Toyota Ireland said:
“Hybrid electrics are one of the best options for Irish drivers who are looking to move towards electrified driving. They have lower NOx and CO₂ emissions than competitor diesel models but also offer reliability and peace of mind as well as the ability to drive in zero emissions mode for over 50% of the time, on average. They offer a more environmentally friendly option to consumers as well as savings on running costs and fuel, compared to petrol and diesel competitor models.
Our stunning range offers customers the option to drive in electric mode without plugging in, and we also have plug-in hybrid models which are growing in popularity. The stunning bZ4X electric SUV is also available to order now, offering a wide choice for customers to choose the electrified powertrain that suits their needs. We expect the interest in hybrid electric models to continue to rise next year and urge anyone interested in exploring electrified driving to get in touch with their local Toyota dealer for more information.”
