Drive the best of both worlds

New Prius can be driven as a pure electric vehicle for many of your regular journeys. But with its petrol engine, Prius is also immune to range anxiety. This cutting-edge Dual DNA powertrain also delivers incredible efficiency, with fuel consumption of just 0.7 litres/100km*.

How does it work?

Plug-in hybrids bridge the gap between hybrid cars and battery-electric vehicles. They can be driven on electric power alone and swiftly recharged like a pure EV. But they also feature an engine, as hybrids do, for when charging is inconvenient.

How far can new Prius Plug-in Hybrid go?

With 50% more battery capacity than before, new Prius Plug-in Hybrid can travel up to 71km* on electric power alone. In urban areas, where speeds tend to be lower, this range is greater still and may be sufficient to meet your daily commuting needs without using the engine.

*The range indicated was tested according to WLTP [Worldwide harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure] regulations. Please note that the EV range of Plug- In Electric cars are influenced by environmental and internal factors.

Such factors that can affect the range include but are not limited to: the external temperature, the temperature of the battery, use of the vehicle (urban, motorway), average driving speed and driver behaviour, and the use of electrical features such as air-conditioning. As a result, the achievable range of each specific car depends on these, and other factors, and the average range may be lower during daily usage. Further deviation from these values might also be possible under prevailing conditions

How to improve your driving range

As a Plug-in Hybrid, new Prius rewards regular charging with impressive fuel efficiency and enhanced pure-electric capability. It combines a high-density battery with clever software to maximise this electric driving range. Features such as Regenerative Boost and Predictive Efficiency Drive also help you go further, as will driving smoothly, avoiding harsh acceleration and braking.
